For the introduction I created my custom logo for the background in adobe illustrator, once I had completed this, I then imported it into a intro video template and edited the colours and the speed/effects of the video.
After I tested using a Wacom tablet on a mac, I was testing the handwriting functions which I could later use for signatures of 'celebrities' in my magazine. I played around with the pressure setting to help create a more realistic appearance. You can see a little demo in the video above.
I have used a different variety of coloured lips which all relate to the connotations of the POP genre which are the colours pink, nude and use of glitter. I have also put on there different eye shadows from pink to nude as pink is the connotation of pop and a nude, natural colour is the connotation of my target audience as they are very young.
The social class table was very important when deciding
what content I should put in my magazine when I new which demographic I was
aiming at. It helped me decide what my artist would be wearing in terms of
colours and design to make it appropriate to my audience. It also helped me
decide what kind of competitions I would be including because I couldn’t put in
a free weekend away knowing they wouldn’t be of the correct age to go so this
enabled me to decide on what free giveaways to put init. I decided on free
posters and a discount of a subscription.
My focus groups helped me a lot in a way in how I now know
what my target audience like and what their opinion is on what I should be
putting into my magazine. It has helped me to make the decision on what to call
my magazine as I had a choice of 7 different names and they have told me the
one that they like the most so I know that it will appeal to my target
audience. They have also helped me in knowing what kind of contents to put into
my magazine i.e. free posters, competitions to win festival and concert
tickets. I found out that my target audience are willing to pay as much as £4
for my magazine and for it to be published twice a month which I didn’t expect
at all. When doing my focus group I found out who their favourite pop artists
are so I am able to use them in my magazine to entice my audience to buy my
magazine. I knew that the colour scheme I was going to use was a mixture of pink
purple yellow and white, when asking the question in my focused group they
confirmed to me that they was the colours they expected to see meaning my
research was correct. I asked them what their hobbies are because I thought
this would give me a advantage of what content I could put in my magazine and
what competitions I could use.
Doing my focus group was very important due to the fact it
helped me to figure out what my target audience like and that I aren’t creating
something that they don’t want to buy. I have specified before my focus group
that the main gender I am aiming my magazine to is females so this made my
research more valuable. The main point it has helped me with is the naming of
the magazine, what colours to use within it, how many times a month it should
be published and what they would like to win.
I used the pen tool to draw around her, then I used the
clone stamp to change the background. I then added colour curves to emphasise
lighting, added brightness, contrast and edited the levels. I then used the pen
tool to draw round some baggy material, then i used the clone stamp to remove
it. After that i duplicated a bit of the fluffy edge on the other side and added it to
the bit I removed to make it look real.
This is the official TOP 10 Charts. I have looked at this because I wanted to get some inspiration for what to include on my magazine. This helped me understand who's popular right now in the pop genre and helped me to realise what artists I can put within my magazine. I also got some ideas of colour schemes from the front covers of the albums especially Meghan Trainors as it is bright pink and a baby blue and those are the colours I was thinking about using in my magazine.
I took what I liked from both of my Google mock ups that I had already done and put them into another mock up with another image. Underneath there are 8 steps in which I took to completing the final piece.
